Hi guys – This was a fantastic tutorial – the fibre effect in particular was fantastic. I’ve been using your tutorials for a couple of months now with a class of Multimedia students (all girls, 15-16 years old) and they’ve been really engaged with the stuff you’ve done.

There are probably several ways to “distress” something in Inkscape. In release 0.47, which is still being developed, there is a rubber stamp effect. However, I would check out Nicu’s tutorial on the rubber stamp effect. http://howto.nicubunu.ro/rubber_stamp_inkscape

Does anyone know of a good way too distress (I think that’s the right term) something in Inkscape? Basically I want my logo to have the same “worn and torn” look as the font – any ideas?

Great Tut,
Getting texture (fuzz) on the ball was sort of amazing.
BTW, what about putting the logo in the center of the ball,
and the text above and below it on the same path as the lines?
Sort of curved.

Another nice collection of concepts and techniques. Thanks for pointing out the various shortcuts such as reversing the circular gradient. Thanks also for showing alternative ways of doing things such as rotating about a moved centrpoint.
