Episode 054 - Scrapbooking Effect

In this screencast, I demonstrate a slotted corner scrapbooking effect. I also demonstrate a simple embossed text technique as well as a general image clipping technique. All this fun was done using Inkscape 0.45.

In this last screencast you said :”I’ll hold the control key here, I don’t wanna create a square” meant to be rectangle right?

@wec12 - Glad you’re enjoying the screencasts. I’ve always wondered if I should do what heathenx does and say ‘I’m rfquerin’ or ‘I’m Richard Querin’ at the end. Maybe I should say, “Thank you for watching.. I’m not heathenx.”, or “Thank you for watching… I’m gonna go get eat some cereal.”
@Fredtaiwan - Happy you’re getting something out of them. That’s exactly what we wanna hear! I re-watched the first couple minutes of my screencast and I think what I said was, “I’ll hold the control key here, *and* I wanna create a square”. Still not really correct. I should have said “because” instead of “and”. It would have been clearer and sounded much less retarded.
You have to forgive me sometimes because I tend to get a bit of the drymouth when I record these things. I usually have a nice warm cup of coffee beside me to wet my whistle, but the slurping sounds a little distasteful while I’m recording. 
Besides that, I do speak Canadian English, which is the red-headed stepchild of the Kings English sometimes. Eh?

Hey Richard
Like I was saying to Heathenx I’ve been overloaded recently and missed the last three screeencasts, as usual they are great. I especially liked the embossing bit. That could be very handy in a number of situations.
