Well, 48×48 wasn’t necessary since scaling vectors doesn’t harm the resolution but when designing icons I like to change the document size close to the final scale.

Could you please tell me why you changed the document size to 48×48 to begin with?
As I have never worked with SVG before.
Trying to learn all I can before I attempt any tuts.
