All of this screencasts are wonderfull. Very usefull indeed.
What’s happens if, instead of using manual kerning to adjust the position of the text, you rotate the whole thing -45º? (or is this a possibility given by 0.46 and not by 0.45?)

@Javier
Try it and find out. As they say, there is more than one way to skin a cat.

@NICOLE
I have no idea what “right” version of Inkscape you’ll need for your cutter but you can download the latest version (release 0.47) from http://www.inkscape.org/download/?lang=en. Just pick a link for your particular operating system, download, install, and give it a try.

There probably is and I would most likely find the answer if I googled, but I will ask anyway: is it possible to speed up manual text kerning or is Alt+Left/Right the only way to do it in Inkscape?

In the latest version of Inkscape, version 0.48, they have added some letter/word spacing options on the text toolbar that were not present in v0.45. That’s as automatic as you’ll probably get. Works well on text paragraphs, at least that’s what I use it for.

Thank you for the video, but I’m having problems saving it and importing it into Cricut. Its only showing me the two circles. I’ve even completed the last part. What am I doing wrong?

@Mykel. Hmm…not exactly sure. I’ve never used a Cricut so not sure how to prepare a file for it. Maybe try saving a plain svg instead of an Inkscape default svg. Or does it need dxf? Or another format?
