Episode 096 – Axonometric Grids
September 10th, 2009 by rfquerinI’ve just posted Episode 096 which demonstrates how to use Inkscape’s Axonometric grid feature to create isometric illustrations for things like fancy pseudo-3d diagrams or Game maps etc.
This is the first Inkscape screencast I’ve done that I edited together using Blender.
Blender rocks.

I’m working my way from the beginning of your podcasts which I think are great. The difficulty I’m having is that it’s difficult for someone knew to Inkscape to keep up with. I have to stop the videos about every 2 or 3 seconds and ‘rewind’ a lot. Thanks for your guys’ effort. It seems rare when a show like yours continues for as long as it has. I think it’s great.

I guess I should chime in for all the great inspiration you guys are giving me. There’s not one episode that’s boring, and I haven’t encountered a single tutorial that doesn’t have anything new for me. Thanks to these axonometric grids, I can redo my old doodles from highschool and add shadows and stuff
Richard, I love the fast-forward startup – I mostly think “yeah, I can already do that” just to find out that my way would be cumbersome, or I wouldn’t be able to do that at all -.- Entertaining and humbling at the same time.
Keep up the good work, you’re close to the big 1C now. Most impressive.
