Need a New Bible

February 13th, 2009 by heathenx

My Machinery’s Handbook (“The Bible”) is getting quite dated. Suppose I’ll have to get a new one soon. Only bad thing is that I have highlighted and added notes to a gazillion pages. Hanging onto it a little longer only postpones the inevitable.

New ones are so expensive. :(

Please tell me you don’t carry that thing around in your back pocket! :)

Why don’t you just have one of your minions start scanning it to pdf…

Maybe I can get Google to scan it. :)

Actually, this book comes on a CD-ROM too but I’m too old-school I guess. I like a good reference book…you know, for toilet times. ;)

Yeah either that or as a stepstool, temporary car jackstand or probably even as an anvil for those weekend blacksmithing projects.

That sir is a real book, not one of those namby-pamby 300 pagers.. Go big or go home.

    Kay. I’m done.

Even though I never used it much after getting out of trade school, I do miss that book. I don’t know where mine went (circa 1993) but I used to keep it in my tool chest long after I had to part with my machinist’s gear. It had so much info in it, and I don’t see me going to my computer with my grubby hands to look something up ;)
