Tex and the gang are pretty good about pushing through popular applications in PCLOS. One thing that endeared me to Inkscape was the friendly UI. Doing a cursory look 'round in 0.46, I'm sure all the new features will set me back into full fledged learning mode, not that I'm an expert to begin with. It doesn't feel user friendly to me. Perhaps the developers had good reasons for this...and it is new to this release. Maybe the interface will get better over time. I must admit that I was also confused at first when experimenting with the SVG filter effects. The way of concatenating filters is not that obvious. I installed the Ubuntu Gutsy deb package on my Debian Lenny box without a hitch. I love the on screen gradient editing feature. It's made an immediate impact on my artwork. I found one little glitch with the fill/stroke dialog box when in "floating dialog" mode and filed a bug report. I'm not sire I like the "dock", but may give it a try later. Alpha13 Wow,
