I love Ubuntu and think they have done a stellar job with it. I tried X way back when and was not pleased, but figured what the heck i will try it. Holy smokes it screams. To date it is the fastest distro/OS i have used. Going to make the switch to it fully over the weekend. I recommend it it is a great desktop and for the most part if you have used Ubuntu than Xubuntu is not going to be much different.
