What does your favorite text editor say about you?

I’ve used a bunch of different text editors - for both coding and just text file editing. Some of them weren’t mentioned. In pseudo-chronological order then:
Edit (in ms-dos)
Notepad
Wordpad (boy that thing blows - it’s still in XP though!)
Borland Turbo C++ IDE (not just for coding even for editing normal text files)
MegaEdit (i’ve still got a working copy of this as a matter of fact)
DevC++ (again, not just for coding)
Notepad++
Notepad2
Gedit
Geany
Vim
I was always swift enough to stay away from Word and Wordperfect as text editors.
BTW - contrary to the article, Gedit does have syntax highlighting (and so does Vim of course).
I’ve heard good things about Kate (the editor) from a lot of different sources.
